Project Description

We receive via socket to socket connection a live XML feed of information from sportsnetwork.com. The feed send live information about basketball sport. A lot of XML documents are coming all using their own DTD (score, game result, statistic by player, news....) we just need to save 2 of the the most simple DTD's([url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view]) We need this information to be inserted into a database. Where each TAG will be a field. That means, listening to the feed + parsing the information + inserting info into MySQL database. Each XML document will be inserted in a different table Each INFORMATION TAG will represent a different field (columns) The final goal is to be able to map the fields to a pre existing database, used by a content management system, so that articles are created automatically and can be disaplyed as regular articles within the CMS language. So we need: 1/a code that runs under linux to listen 24/7 to the socket, and auto reconnect in eventual deconnection 2/a code that are the info 3/a code that save the info to a database into specific fields. find attached a zip with examples of the dtd and XML samples
