Project Description

I saw your posting on CL.

I need to get a back-end designed for a project. I think it's probably a Joomla or PHP solution, but I'm not sure. I do know that I want a site that works pretty much the same as this: [url removed, login to view] (fyi: this site is custom PHP with MySql database)

I am particularly interested in Joomla (vs. another CMS) because my host has one-click installs of Joomla and gallery.

Please let me know if you'd be interested in building a site with the following requirements:

The site is a participatory photo gallery, which is populated with user-submitted photographs. Each photograph is titled and categorized by the submitter, and comments can be entered for each one.

There is no need for users to create profiles or logins, as everyone will be posting photos to the same album and everyone will be able to see all photos.

Gallery functionality: thumbs and full size

Sorting: by date, photographer, and location (nation, city, neighborhood, and nearest intersection)

Title/caption: for each photo

Comments: for each photo

Submission flow: users submit through the site, agreeing to terms of use, and webmaster approves/modifies submissions before they are posted. Large file sizes must be accepted.

Automatic photo-file resizing (from high rez to web rez) and thumbnail creation.

Nice to Have

I would like to explore using the Joomla/flickr plugin (flickr4j) so that I can have all the photos hosted on flickr.

The ability to eventually plug into the google maps api, in case I ever want to add that in.
