We bought a Wordpress Template (Akita by ThemeBlvd) and need help getting it in shape. It is already installed, but we need all of the components put into place to make it work. There is some more work to do, but here is the full description:
*** First, we need help making it look like the sample at
[url removed, login to view]
Select the Akita theme
and then under Sample Layouts, select Business Homepage #1. This is how we want our site to look.
The first block (the part that says "Enter in the content you’d like to show. You may use basic HTML, and most shortcodes.") we would like to read:
Vintage, Antiques, Folk Art and Pinball Emporium
and to be thinner...more well-designed way to display that store description sentence above
Next, we want our featured picture blog entries to rotate like that image dissolve thing on the sample site highlights those posts. Please set a few up to rotate just like the sample site and teach us how to feature posts like that. The pictures should dissolve (not slide), just like on the sample site.
*** The second part of this project is to take our logo (we have photoshop, illustrator, gif and jpg versions) and make the background Transparent so that it looks like the "Akita" logo (shows the background color/pattern) behind it. Add to the site. We may ask that this is made bigger in order to suggest a bigger, bolder logo (but chopping off some of the top and bottom).
The Adobe Illustrator version of this logo is attached to this project.
*** The third part is to set up our menu/sections in Wordpress:
Home, Blog, About, Portfolio, In Stock, Customers, Contact
Home will just direct to the home page.
Blog will go to a (standard?) blog section.
About will be a static "About Us" page - you set it up, we will fill it in later. Just set it up for us to fill in.
Portfolio will contain individual pieces of furniture that we have done or carried in the past and sold, just to showcase what we do and have done. Need help on how to execute that, and maybe two sample posts.
Under the "In Stock" section, the sub-categories will be:
Under Customers will be:
Contact will be a static page for us to fill in with this info:
2055 Central Ave.
St. Petersburg, FL.

OTHER WIDGETS NEEDED:
* "Sign up for our newsletter" widget in place, and a recommendation on how to make the newsletter happen (a service to use, such as aweber, or perhaps if WordPress has a built-in service or available widget? Just need that recommendation here and set it up).
* Tag cloud
* Facebook feed for [url removed, login to view] the last two entries to facebook.
* RSS subscribe link
The link will be [url removed, login to view] - right now it is [url removed, login to view] but any references/links on the site must be to [url removed, login to view]
The bids I am getting to set up existing modules in an existing theme that we have already purchased and just needs configuration are ridiculous. I remember the days of vWorker where this kind of work would be $30...and it was not that long ago.
Anyone who cares to read this and re-bid, this is easy, straightforward work...but with a lowest bid of $95, I will just learn how to do this myself. Just trying to save myself some time, but I can't abide by these shamefully high bids on such simple, straightforward work.
