I have a service installed on the web server. I am unable to get PHP to connect with sockets so i am trying to interact with the service via Python and exec the python script in PHP and read the output.
the php page for testing is simple.
$user = "icmc(AT)[url removed, login to view]";
$pass = "password";
$command = "[url removed, login to view] $user $pass";
i am passing the user and password variables to the python script.
I have a python script written a while ago by a colleague which i don't understand, but have managed to request the data i am after ok.
But i do encounter problems, im not sure the python script is reliable and i think it is over complicated for what i need as it try to cater for a lot of operations i do not need and handle responses etc. All i need is the contacts list reliably for the user PHP passes it.
If i run the php page and get the contacts list back into PHP, then change the username and password in the PHP script and re-run. The correct user details are passed to the python script but the script is returning the previous users contact list and not the new one.
I also find that it leaves zombie process and i have to go kill them manually.
I think this will be an easy job for an experienced python developer, to simplify and 'finish off' the script i will attach.

I've worked with both Python and PHP, but I develop primarily in Python. I've done tons of network programming so this job is not anything new to me. Check your PMB.
