Project Proposal

We are an insurance company that sell to customers nationwide. We need a back end system set behind our website where customers can purchase plans and see their account, dealers can sell product and view customer accounts to answer questions. We will also need a design that allows Customers and Dealers to file claims and set up check ups.

We need a basic Customer Relationship Manager System in order to store basic information for our customers. We will need to different channels to access this data.

1. A customer must be able to log into their own account to check information in regards to their account.

2. A dealer must be able to see all basic information about any customer in our database.


There needs to be a system for filing claims which allows customers and dealers to file claim requests, that become immediately available for an office location to begin processing. This will need to track several different steps ([url removed, login to view] Claim, [url removed, login to view] Claim, 3. Fulfill Claim, 4. Complete Claim). The system will NOT need to integrate with an inventory system, just be able to track progress so that employees can access the information and act accordingly.

Check ins

On each customers account there will need to be the ability to track "Check-ins". Customers will periodically have their phones looked at and we will need to be able to track which customers have checked in and how many times.

Billing System

Billing Management that includes both upfront payments and recurring payments. We use FirstData Corporation as a payment processing company and we need to integrate into their system in such a way that we do NOT store any credit card information in our system. This should be as easy as setting up a link to their portal on required pages. We need our system to deliver the required information to FirstData.


We need customized groups. Customers will be grouped into categories based of where they purchased their plan. We need to be able to track where these plans were purchased from in order to relay statistics to individual dealers that sold our plan. We will also need user groups with different levels of access to our database and systems depending on employees need of access to particular pieces of data.


We will need support with integrating this back end into our website as well as finding a data center to host our database once completed. It will also be important that customer data can be exported from our contact list in the event that we need to transfer our data into other software. Again we will not need ANY credit card information stored in our database.
