Project Description

We're looking for somebody who can import 800,000 books into the community version of Magento.

Here are more details:

1. Book File

Contains product details about the book (e.g. ISBN, Title, Price, Author, Category Code, Release date, etc).

- Custom fields will need to be created into Magento for the file to be accepted (there are 25 different headers).

- The file is in Pipe '|' delimited format.

- Only certain fields will be shown to end-customer. There needs to be the option to not show certain fields on product details page.

This is the core import which will determine placement for everything below...

2. Category Creation

Categories need to be created with a list provided. Each category will have a code assigned to it. When importing a product, If the line item matches the code, it's added to that particular category.

- Categories can go up to 3 levels deep.

3. Product descriptions

Descriptions are in a .txt file in tabbed format. The ISBN is the 1st column and description is the 2nd column. Descriptions are in HTML format. If a matching ISBN exists in catalog, then the description is added for that item.

4. Author Biographies

Similar to the Product descriptions file. Contained in a .txt file with the ISBN as the 1st Column and About the Author in the 2nd Column. HTML formatting also applies. If a matching ISBN exists in the catalog, then the author biography is added for that item.

5. Jacket Images

The file name for the jacket images is the ISBN number (with BR used as prefix). If a matching ISBN exists in the catalog, then the jacket image is added for that item.
