Project Description

Hello,
ChangeTheFuture is a non profit social enterprise with a huge dream; to involve more people in shaping UK education.

We'd love to hear from UK based programmers who could build the prototype for this. Really it will be a proof of concept; something we can test out in the real world with real people, refine the idea and develop it.
If we like working with you, we may consider involving you in more of what we're doing.

We're not too bothered what technology you decide to use to create the prototype, so long as the prototype is fully interactive, stable and includes all the features we need.

Rather than upload the brief here, we'd like to find the right kind of person first, but here's some basic details:

ChangeTheFuture is a website that will be free for people to use. It will change the way we shape education by inviting more people to share their ideas, propose things and vote on the best ideas for change. It comprises 5 features. Learn more about CTF here:

We need to prototype 2 of the 5 features: OpenYourMind and ChangeThings.
Essentially, users will be able to use the prototype to submit a new idea for something they'd like to change, specifying whether it's for their school, or national education policy. People can add arguments for and against, comment on the arguments, add case studies, collaboratively work on milestones to implement the proposal (in a wikipedia-like way) and OpenYourMind is also user generated, user moderated contributions which are designed to show us how different education can be (and already is in some places) etc...

I'd rather get expressions of initial interest at this stage and see who has a genuine interest and sounds like someone nice to work with!
Tell me about why this project interests you, whether you think you might potentially want to work with our team in a bigger capacity (advising us on technical things etc) and talk to us about your interest in education if you have any, as well as collaborative decision making technologies and Internetocracy.

Thanks!
Luke
