This is a system for creating, maintaining, and managing a set of email campaigns.
It's a very simple project if you know what you are doing.
Each campaign is made up of a series of email messages that are to be sent at a specified date and time to the list of subscribers to that campaign.
See attachment for detailed specifications.
Each message can have one or two versions, "A" and "B", each of which may have a different subject heading. When subscribers are added to a campaign, they should be designated as "A" or "B" which should be governed by a data field in each campaign. If that field contains "A" then all new subscribers will be designated as "A" and if that field contains "B" then all new subscribers will be designated as "B" and "Alternate A/B" they will alternate between "A" and "B".
Subscribers should be able to be added by a web form containing all of the data items. The subscription source, IP address, date subscribed, and time subscribed should be automatically filled in.
There should be an option to send a confirming email to each subscriber when they subscribe and replies to the confirming email should cause the date confirmed field for that subscriber to be updated.
There should also be an option in each campaign to include an unsubscribe link in email messages sent for that campaign. If someone clicks on the unsubscribe link the unsubscribed date and time should be recorded in the appropriate fields for that subscriber. Remember that each campaign has a separate list of subscribers.
Obviously, emails should not be sent to people who have unsubscribed.
