Since the tightening of data protection laws in Australia, we are looking for a way to validate email lists.
We have many large lists that are not double-verified / opt-in. However, the law stipulates that if the email can be found in the public domain, it is permitted to send to these addresses.
We would like to have a script based online - php format- where we could upload CSV format lists of email addresses, that would search each email address on Google, and then return a result of whether or not the email address has been found.
A simple yes or no result would suffice, but would also be interested to capture the website URL where the address was found... the first result URL in the google search.
Once processed, the list of results would need to be returned and downloadable in CSV format.
The script would need to be capable of large amounts of addresses- tens of thousands, and would have to have some kind of timing mechanism so as to avoid flooding google with too many requests all at once and making them angry!
If anybody can do this, or has alternate suggestions of how to accomplish this, I am interested to hear from you.
