Project Description

We need a simple, flexible, and standardized module to collect (inventory) and process (manage) information of School of Engineering infrastructure, e.g. topographic, chemistry, physics, and computers, to work inside of MOODLE.

The module has to manage information about the assets that every person in the faculty (professor, student, practice, associated, social service, person in charge of every laboratory, etc.), uses on an everyday basis (permanent user) or on an event driven that has to borrow temporally from the permanent user. At least every asset should have id (20), serial number, description (40), year of purchase, license, funds, invoice (file in attachment or picture when it was purchased), picture1, picture2, location, building, status (working, failure, not on use), and observations. The amount of fields could change. More information for an idea [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view]

The assignment of the assets can be change between users, but this is going to be fulfill until the receiving user acknowledge the assignment, higher roles (admin, manager or course creator) can also update this matter.

If the event is temporally, it has to be because that asset has a tag that it can be borrowed, this tag is updated by the permanent user or higher role privileged (roles of MOODLE). In this case, the assets are in a special section that a user has to capture in a borrow application, this application can consulted by all users to see if a equipment is free to borrow or when is it going to be free.

The users that can apply to borrow asset are because higher roles (admin, manager or course creator) can assign that privileged to the user.

The module has to be accessible in the block section (left or right) and the appearance has to be like the theme of the whole MOODLE site. The module has to be called invsga compatible with MOODLE 2.5.2.
