My client has a web site - [url removed, login to view] as well as a wordpress blog - [url removed, login to view] The site will sometimes receive large amounts of traffic that will crash the current server, so we are moving to a cloud based hosting solution that will allow us to pay for hosting servers on an hourly rate and ramp up server capabilities instantly. We have found a solution with this, but have found a few limitations that we are trying to work around.
The new server has a wordpress blog that is running on Amazon AWS servers. With the new hosting - I have to have the wordpress install within the root folder of the server. I cannot move it to a directory like /blog/ as it is now.
I have had to upload the main web site files to a folder on the new server labeled /website/
My problem is this - if you go to the new server - [url removed, login to view] (which when we change the DNS will become [url removed, login to view]) it pulls up the wordpress installation. And in order to access the main web site you have to go to [url removed, login to view]
I want to change this - preferable using an .htaccess redirect - so that when you go to [url removed, login to view] - it pulls up the main web site and when you go to [url removed, login to view] - it pulls up the wordpress install
I was provided some sample code to try - but this did not work:
DirectoryIndex /website/[url removed, login to view]
RewriteRule ^blog$ wordpress_folder/
RewriteRule ^blog/(.*)$ wordpress_folder/$1
I am looking for someone that can solve this issue. We will not be providing server access - you would need to email me code for an htaccess file that I can copy and paste and then test. Please note that we need a solution that will fully work to ensure that both the web site and wordpress install are fully functional and can be accessed in the way that is described above.

I would love to help with your htaccess rewrite. I have done extensive work with ModRewrite in many applications. I have no other projects in progress and could start right away!
I am a wordpress expert and I know very well how to fix this issue. What I need: Wordpress database access. FTP access. Wordpress admin access. I can do this today in few hours.
