Currently we have an excel price list for our products which our purchasing team manually update and email our sales people. Our Sales People then need to manually markup the prices for their different customers. We would like to put the spreadsheet online where our Purchasing Manager can login and update pricing and add new columns when a new product becomes available. The sales manager would be able to login and select the different markup %'s to apply to each product and quantity, the sales manager should be able to save different pricing templates, for example A, B,C,D and E. For example A would be our VIP pricing and E would be our highest pricing. The Sales Manager should have the ability to approve new products that the Purchasing Manager recently added. Once the Sales Manager has approved products they are then made viewable by customers and sales people. The sales people would be able to login to another section of the same portal and select which pricing template to assign to their customer base. Sales people might assign template A to their biggest customers and template E to their small customers, for example.
Customers are then able to login to the portal and view the price list that has been assigned to them. They cant see other templates that are not assigned to them and they certainly should never see the cost price or formula used to markup the prices.
To clarify there should be the following user levels:
Furthermore, we already have our own PHP written online system, with our above mention users registered. We would like you to be able to create this system within the existing architecture and security. We have a menu function called Quote Request and we would use this menu button to end the new portal we are requesting. The menu function called Quote Request, should have its name changed to Price List.
We also finally want a calculator tool to be available on the price list screen so that whoever is trying to calculator a price from the price list can select quantity and options from a drop down box and receive instantly a total price with itemization available.
I have uploaded the first draft of the existing price list for you to use from a formating point of view. It would be great if you could design the Purchasing Managers section at least, so that they could cut and paste from excel columns or rows of data, to save manually entering fields in one by one. You may also suggest another way to improve this. Its also critical to have an export function to export the cost and sales price lists in an excel format similiar to the one i have attached if possible.
You will notice we have a list of terms and conditions under the price list in the excel field, its important we have the option to edit these somewhere on the portal so that they can be updated and made visible from time to time.
