This is a very small project. Successful completion of this project will bring additional work. I need part-time work of 5-10 hours a week for the next 3 months. Then I hope to grow this position into ~20 hours a week in 6 months.
I have a data access class called [url removed, login to view] that needs a new field added. The new field is called include_increase. This airfare model is used to search for airfare prices and alert the user when the price decreases. This new field is being added to also allow the user to choose to be alerted when the price increases.
The new field is a boolean, represented in the MySQL database as a bit. Your job is to add the column to the MySQL database using the migration structure already in place. Then you'll need to connect that new field to the airfare_model class. Finally, you'll need to write new or modify existing automated unit tests to verify that the class properly reads and writes the field.
A unit test framework is already in place for this project and can be seen at [url removed, login to view] The username is 'freelancer' and the password is 'freelancer'. (These will be changed once you start work.) On this page, click the update_db link to rebuild the test database using the existing migration scripts. Or select a test file to run and see the result.
To accomplish this work, you will be given FTP access to the [url removed, login to view] web server. You will make your changes directly on the server.
I expect 100% unit test coverage. Although I believe TDD is the best testing methodology, you can write the code in whatever manner you choose.
