Ruby Backend for Web Application

Build a backend for a web application that will:

a) Provide a user login and authentication function.

b) Collect a XML record from logged-in users and store it in a SQL database.

c) Return a status to the web application (record already exists, user not logged in, etc.)

d) Timeout authentication after a period of inactivity, or log out.

Transactions will be implemented in POST over SSL. Developer should use publicly available libraries where possible.

We'll provide a EC2 instance and a GIT repository to work with. Developer should also prepare a distribution kit and installer (if needed) to fully install the backend on a fresh server.
