Project Description

I’m in the next phase of developing my store locator script, for a new search service that I hope to launch.
If you want to test it, search for "Birmingham" with a radius of 100-miles.

Currently, the script searches for all suppliers within; 1) a chosen category, and; 2) a chosen radius from the users address.

I now want to change the search into something better. I want to add a new search variable into the equation - “Price”.

Currently, from the admin end, there is a “Manage Locations” link where the admin can Add, Edit or Delete supplier details. I now also want a “Manage Products/Prices” link where the admin can add a new Product, give it a Price, associate this Product/Price with a Category and a Supplier, then save this to a new database table.

When the visitor currently searches, the search request is
- “Search for all Suppliers within x-Miles within x-Category, sort by Distance”, with the tabulated results showing suppliers sorted by distance, and the map results showing these suppliers.
this should now change to:
- “Search for all Products within x-Miles within x-Category, sort by Price”, with the tabulated result page showing all products, with associated suppliers, sorted by price/distance, and the map results showing these suppliers.

I require someone with a proven ability in PHP and MySQL to restructure the MySQL database and PHP code, to execute the changes listed above.

One issue that I’m aware of is that the PHP/MySQL scripting is quite old, having been first written in 2007. Therefore although it works perfectly it may need to be optimized/updated.

As an extra feature, I would also like you to introduce Pagination into the tabulated search results.

Myself and my colleague understand PHP and MySQL and can make basic changes, but this job is too complex for us. The Freelancer who ends up working on this project will more than probably develop and maintain the script going forward, therefore more work is almost guaranteed.

Thank you.
