I am a online product creator and have serious issues with online content sharing.
I recently download a file and when attempted to open it the file failed a CRC check. This got me thinking that it could be possible to force corruption on files that are not downloaded from specified links.
I have no idea if this is possible but what I am looking to do is create a script or software that corrupts a file when its not download from a specified link/s.
For example a person buys my ebook, the ebook is delivered in a zip file, they are taken to a download page and click the link [url removed, login to view] and receives the book. They decide that they want to illegally share this ebook online and upload it to mediafire or some other mirroring site and get a download link. The file that they uploaded should have some kind of hidden protection in it, which when not downloaded from the correct link (in this example case [url removed, login to view]) the file automatically is corrupted on download.
So the script/software would track were the download was coming from and if it was not from a specified link it would automatically corrupt all data in the file. The script/software would have to be hidden in the file somehow, so illegal shares cannot just remove script/software.
Don't know if this is possible or if there are other options that might be worth looking into, would be good to hear if anyone more experience on technical stuff knows anything that could be done.Get free quotes for a project like this
