Project Description

There are number of issues with one of my servers and I need an experienced Linux/Apache/MySQL/PHP/ guru to solve the problem.

I have a linux server running CentOS 6 with Parallels Plesk Panel 11 (64-bit). There are various websites and databases on this server and everything was running OK using PHP 5.3.4 and MySql 5.1.6. Many of the sites are Wordpress sites.

THE PROBLEM: I noticed that some of the sites were experiencing an "Error establishing a database connection" page being reported from some of the wordpress sites. Connection parameters were checked and they were OK and a connection could be established by other means just not through the wordpress pages. We disabled plug-ins and themes in wordpress and reinstalled wordpress. The problem continued. We found that by restarting mysqld the sites would work again but only for a short time before the error reappeared. So began a continual process of error, restart, error, restart, error, etc. So we thought that this might be due to the mysql installation being unstable. We therefore updated mysql to version [url removed, login to view] in the hope that the database upgrade would solve the problem. It hasn't and we now have some more problems which may be caused by an incompatibility between mysql and php, perhaps? Ports on the server that were previously open are now closed and therefore we are not able to use Plesk through the web interface.

WHAT WE NEED:
1. We need a stable version of PHP and MySQL on the server which allows the websites to work correctly with Wordpress.
2. We also need to find out why the database keeps losing it's connection and fix that
3. We need Plesk to operate correctly from its web interface.
4. This must all be done so that the existing databases and websites are not lost - the backups have already been done.

Therefore this task is for an experienced system admin type guru with plenty of good reviews. Do not apply if you are not well recommended for this type of project.
We would also like this completed within 24 hours if possible.
