connect SQL to 1and1 server

I have a new dedicated web server at [login to view URL], "1&1 Business Windows Server I". My web application is up and running fine using SQL Server. However, I am unable to access the SQL Server database from my VB6 application, or SQL Query Analyzer that runs here on my computer. I don't think it's a firewall issue, as I've tried turning that off altogether. You will login into my computer using my GoToAssist software. From there we will both log into the web server and you will do your magic. You will also do a cursory overview of the firewall and other security settings to make sure they are safe and sane. WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS DONE WITHIN THE NEXT TWO DAYS. ## Deliverables All we have to do is 1) get VB6 to connect to the 1and1 SQL Server 2005 Express database 2) get SQL Query Analyzer to recognize database on 1and1 server. 3) provide recommendations for server security (check out firewall settings) To be clear, both of these are client apps accessing the server. The server is already up and running fine with SQL. WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS DONE WITHIN THE NEXT TWO DAYS. All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform My local client computer is running Windows XP SP2 with MSDE 2000. The web server is Windows Server 2003 with SQL Server 2005 Express. (I know MSE can access SQL 2005, b/c I use it on several other servers).
