I'm looking for a simple tool which checks a website repeatedly and alerts me by email when the website has been changed in a certain way. I will send more details privately if I'm interested in your bid, but the program should do the following:
1) Go to a particular ticketing website, make predetermined selections from dropdowns, and click a button. This launches a pop-up box.
2) Make a predetermined selection from another dropdown in the pop-up, click a button. This brings up a new page in the pop-up.
3) Detect whether this page has changed since the last time the program checked. If it has changed in a certain way, automatically send an email to a preset address.
To be clear, the ticketing website will change at some unknown times in the future (but in a way we know to look for). We need to constantly download this web page to see when it has been updated.
Some things which need to be customizable in the program:
-Frequency of website checking
-Email address to send alert to
-Which dropdown selection to make in step 1 above. All the possible pop-ups which are then launched are similar, so the program should work for any initial selection.
Some other requirements:
-Reliability: the program needs to be able to run for 7 days or more, continuously, without crashing.
-Email: the program needs to be able to send an automatic email alert when the change is detected. This should *not* rely on having Outlook or other special software installed, if possible.
With your bid, please tell me what language you plan to build the tool in, and how you will send the automatic email.
