Project Description

I want to create an online web based platform that enables neighbors to create private social networks for their neighbourhood. Using this site, neighbours can communicate with each other to build stronger and safer neighborhoods.

The work here is as a rub off of our community based information website which is [url removed, login to view] - this has a purpose of providing information to locals about whats happening in the city rebuild but is very one way. We wish to make this two way and with more focus on private networks that can support community resilience online.

We want this to be based on the idea that the neighbourhoods are one of the most important and useful communities in a person's life. Our mission is to bring back a sense of community to the neighbourhood.

Each neighbourhood will create a private network within the website that is accessible only to the residents of that neighbourhood. Once neighbours verify their addresses and join their neighbourhood website area we want them to be able to find other neighbours in the resident directory, view a neighbourhood map, ask for advice, exchange local recommendations, share neighbourhood information with each other which can be a number of different things.

This will be a mix of functions that are not new but we want to target this to enhance communications locally. So a mix of functionality from [url removed, login to view] to [url removed, login to view] to [url removed, login to view] to [url removed, login to view] is important.

For this job we require you to understand our needs and end goal and work to provide a proposal on how you can build this social platform with timeframes, costs, how you propose to do it, functionality, security etc.

This is currently in confidence and we look forward to working with people to make this a reality for our city.
