Project Description

This is a blog about a journey through Australia to find how different people live in various environments.

This blog has two purposes. A) to document a variety of people 'from squats to mansions', in various settings 'the bush to the sea' in their own words and b) my personal experience in engaging with these people in these environments.

This is being driven by my passion of this country, its epic landscapes and its weird and wonderful inhabitants.

Down the track, I want this blog to essentially be a book with a profile photo of the person (or persons) in their environment, with a caption of their quotes. I will be learning how to use a digital SLR to use these photos for the wordpress blog and hopefully, book.

I hope the viewer sees a far more diverse view of this country, in its environment, people and lifestyles (by choice or otherwise) than may be otherwise shown by mainstream media, as essentially this is a journey.

I don't yet have any files to add, as the photos and interviews will begin in one months' time. In June & July I will travel through the desert (Sydney - Adelaide - Alice - Darwin). I will continue the journey later in the year or next year.

I am thinking of posting partial interviews on youtube with ads to attract some funding to continue the journey.

Photos will be a big part of the blog. Videos perhaps less so but as mentioned above, possibly on youtube.

I am very keen to get advice on bringing this idea together and getting the blog up asap, so I can attract people to meet with and document. I will also be setting up a twitter account, as it was advised to me.
