Why a multi-platform website? Because at this moment, I can't afford to build distinct apps for the desktop, iOS, and Android. I'm launching a very lean start-up, and need to build a product that works across all platforms.
I can't tell you the details of what I'm building in a job post. If you're interested in the project, and I feel you have the right chops for the job, I will send you an NDA to sign, and will give you all details upon signing.
Here's what I can tell you:
I'm designing a consumer site/app that deals with streaming entertainment - films, TV shows. I've built a very basic prototype with minimal functionality (or rather, I hired someone to do it).
I need you to have the ability to build a search engine. I also need you to have the ability to build social features into the site. I'm not looking to build the next Facebook, but the site will allow the user to follow other users (or their FB, Twitter, etc friends/followers), and share content with them. Additionally, I am also looking for someone who has great visual style, and can conceive and design excellent user interfaces.
BTW, you can be an individual, or work with a team.
As you may have surmised, my background is not in technology. I am a professional in another industry that is tangentially related to the site I'm building. I'm looking for someone to build the site, and additionally, to update and further develop after launch. This could be a long-term relationship.
I've priced out different development firms where I live (NYC), and am aware of the market rate as far as development houses go. Because of my resources, I'm looking to spend substantially less than that.
I will need to see your portfolio of work to consider you.
