We are a non profit and are interested in creating a dynamic google earth experience for doners that provide families in third world countries with fresh water filtration systems.
What we do is gather pictures and gps coordinates along with info about the family when we provide the system to them. The goal would be for the doner to be able log onto a website and by entering their last name, be taken to an embedded google earth page that takes them to the village at about 10,000 feet altitide where a bubble with text (from dbase) would tell them about the village. Then with a click they would then be taken to the 50 foot (or what ever) level and they would get another bubble that tells them about the family. Another click makes the bubble go away and a picture of the family appear. I have attached a KMZ file that I created to approximate what we want to do. Also we would want to populate the database in the easiest method possbile. For example, email a jpeg with embedded gps data and maybe the text for the bubbles in the email aling with donor name, family info etc. Not mandating the use of email to populate the database that but something simple to update the website would be key. A db maintenance screen would also be required for manually entering and changing data and uploading the jpeg. I have included a google earth kmz file so you can see what I am looking for. If you run the tour you will see exactly how this would present itself to the donor.
we have experience in google API, you can see one of our product in developement here, http://code.google.com/p/duinop. We can make the projects in less than 30 days probably.
