Project Description

We require a website to be built which will have approximately 8 pages with an effective searchable and secure database.

The website will allow people to find and promote community events.

The site needs to be simple but a very stylish design and not something that looks like a template. This could be done as part of Wordpress.

The system would work like this:-

SEARCH: Anyone could search for an event based on their current location, the location of the event (auto lookup as user types), the date of the event or the type of event. That search would produce a list showing matched events. User could open any. Event would show a Google Map along with event details. User could also subscribe to that event so they would receive a reminder for the event OR they could download a link for their own calendar.

REGISTER: Anyone may register. All users would need to be approved by admin before their registration is approved.

PROMOTE: Registered users can promote an event. This would include providing all details about the event. Fields may be variable depending on the type of event chosen. This will also include the ability to include auto lookup for suburb and postcode. All events are editable by the user and by admin.

All events are initially "unconfirmed". 3 days before the event the registered user will receive an email asking them to confirm the event. Upon confirmation the event note would change to "Confirmed". Promoted events could run over several days and be repeatable on a given day/date each month. eg the 4th Saturday each month etc.

Events should be automatically removed as at midnight on the day the event was held.

HOME PAGE; The home page aside from all normal reference information should also contain a list of recent events listed as a quick reference.

This database will also be used for an iPhone/iPad application down the track.

More information is available on request.
