Project Description

Skills Required:

1. Able to build and design professional websites (html, css styles, php, graphic design)

2. Experience with optimising SEO in web design

3. Able to integrate and embed :

(a) wordpress,

(b) email optin (aweber),

(c) online store integration

(d) social media (twitter, facebook, digg etc)

Imagine that you win this job and do all of the work. By the time you are finished, a user should be able to go to our website and see a home page with a layout similar to this website [url removed, login to view]

In describing what features go where, I’ll refer to four different containers on the website;

1. A header container - with the title and headings

2. Then there are 3 central page containers

(a) one of the left (‘left container’) which has optin and social media stuff,

(b) one in the middle (‘middle container’) which has blog content, and

(c) one on the right (‘right container’) - which has various pictures and links.

Four our website, the layout for each webpages should be as follows (the main content sits in the middle container):

3. Header container:

(a) Contains our logo (up top in the place where it says gary vay ner chuck on [url removed, login to view]). The background for the top section should be white (not green like on gary’s site)

(b) Headings (links to website pages) – where it says ‘Home’, ‘Hire Gary to Speak’, ‘About’, ‘Keynotes’ we want to have the following headings (for now):

(i) Home

(ii) About

(iii) Store

(c) Search box – aligned to the right - to search our website

4. Left Container:

(a) Email optin at the top left - the colour should be solid and contrast the background colour for the rest of the website. Eyes should naturally be drawn to it.

(b) “Follow Us” Toolbar on the left for connectivity – links to Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Google+;

5. Middle Container:

(a) Blog feed – what tool is he using to post? We currently use wordpress but want to have the same features that he is using including:

(i) ‘Subscribe’ at the top of each new post

(ii) RSS feed;

(iii) Twitter comments section (so you can tweet right away) and facebook ‘Like’

6. Right container:

(a) Not needed yet –blank for now
