Project Description

A website will be created for the sole purpose of hosting tournaments and providing information about LAN events that are hosted also.

The website requires some Tournament Coordinator Systems Design so that future tournament administrators can handle the registration of teams, creating and organizing of brackets, et cetera. The design of the website should be custom as well, but have a fully integrated and developed back end that allows non-technical users to easily manage all of the content of the site.

Details about the features that need to be included in the tournament system of the website are provided below:

Here are things that should be featured in an event coordination system;

-Create new event.

This part will create the event. This will allow you to write up an description for the event. Put times and dates in. This is what will be seen when you press the link to the tournament info.

Required inputs for create event;

- Event name

- Times and dates (This should be all automatically and will be working side by side with the official time for the trademark webpage). That will make registrations and check-ins start and end in the right times.

- Type of game

- Description (For info about the tournament, prizes, format, schedule, streams etc.

- Rules

Just a text input, where you can write up the rules. This (as well as the description) should have a feature where you can change the font of the text, to make it more structured.

- Registration

Where you put in what requirements are needed to sign up. You put the title over each text-box so that the players can put in their correct information. This should be directly linked to the "Attendees" section, with teamnames, playernames, region(if required). This is where the teams will be put into the system. Once they put in their information in these Unique Input, they will be put in the "Attendees" section, and they will be on hold for bracket creation.

Here the admins are able to edit the teams and players. This section should automatically feature all teams that have signed up, and are easily editable for admins. Here, you will see all info about the teams, name, playernames, region, etc. You can also put in new teams, for late registrations or other issues. There will also be an easy way to delete a team.

- Seeding. You should be able to seed as many teams as you want, in order from 1,2,3,and so on. They will automatically be seeded into the bracket at the correct positions. All of the teams that registered for the event should be in the bracket system ready to be put into their matches.

- Size. 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256,512. The size of the bracket should be editable to make it look better depending on amount of signups.

Once the seeding is done, there should be a button called create bracket. There, the rest of the none seeded teams will be randomed out to the rest of the open slots in the bracket. Once this is done, the bracket should still be easily editable until you make it LIVE. So there should be an option where the bracket will be private, and one where it will be live. This is for easy editing, watching over the bracket, making some last edits, etc. Once the bracket goes LIVE, nothing should be able to be changed without the system complaining.

There should also be an option where you can change what should be shown in the bracket. Playernames, teamnames, or likewise.

This whole even coordinator will create an event, with the following tabs.

-Tournament information

-Tournament registration

-Tournament rules

-Tournament attendees

-Tournament bracket
