I'm experiencing a high load on my website due to a specific query driving my server crazy. I'm not very knowledgeable but I've talked to my hosting provider and they have showed me what the problem is. Here is what was told to me:
- Your feeds table is slowing down the server -- every page hit is triggering temporary table creation
which is slow and table-locking
- The feeds table has 36884 records in it. Due to the queries it's running on a very regular basis, this appears to be rather expensive
- The mysql server is stuck generating temporary tables (disk access which is very slow) for *every* page hit.
I don't know much about coding or databases and would need someone to help me with avoiding this problem. I've been given the exact query that is causing the problem so I can provide this to the person able to fix this problem.
