Project Description

My current ecommerce site is dated and needs a modern design refresh. The new design must enhance trust with customers and ultimately increase sale conversions. This is a redesign project with no new content. So, please bid accordingly. I will send the link to the site upon request.

There are four parts of this assignment:

- Homepage Redesign

- Install functional blog page

- Update shopping cart pages to align to homepage menu bars / design. This should be simple as the pages can be updated in mass

- Update ~150 information pages to align to the homepage menu bars / design. I think this is simple and can be done in mass.

You will need to upload and fully install the new website on the Network solutions shopping cart program. I want to approve and have the option to make and suggest changes to the design before it is installed on the site.

Project details below

1) Homepage Redesign – The site needs to be both modern and functional. Two examples of sites that I like are below. The target market is home décor individual buyers and home décor professional designers.

• Overall I want a modern look with a new logo, new images, new layout, and new fonts that is less busy and more functional

• Please ensure the new design doesn't impact the search engine rankings and use the appropriate meta tags.

• I want to emphasize free shipping with a $50min order and trusted retailer since 1998. I think this should be in the header space but I'm open.

• Add a prominent promotions section or bar that I can highlight free shipping or other promotions and make it easy to edit

• Eliminate and consolidate either the left or right menu bar

• Eliminate all of the scattered information links and put at the bottom of the page

• I think overall the homepage needs more white space

• The top bar menu needs the most improvement – see examples of sites above. Here are the categories I'm thinking about.

- Clocks by category

Have a drop down with current categories at the store

- Clocks by size

- Best Sellers

- Specials

• Add some interesting and eye catching content in the body of the page – maybe rotating images of bestselling products. I'm open.

• Continue to have selectable categories in the body of the page with images, but update with modern and clean looking pictures.

• Add a prominent customer lead capture email form. Text – "Be the first to know about our new products"

• Add social sharing buttons and connect on Facebook where appropriate on the homepage

• Easy to find link to the blog

• Prominent spot for customer service email and phone number

2) Install a functional blog that is linked on the homepage

3) Update shopping cart pages

• This is done in the Network Solutions system

• Needs to be completed before project is done

4) There are ~150 information pages that need to have the new menu and header bars. These need to be updated as well.

• Needs to be completed before project is done

The project needs to be completed within 21days after assignment.
