Project Description

Upgrade my store which is currently using Magento to the latest Magento version 1.7.

You have to consider that I use a personalized layout and around 30 extensions (not all of them will be upgraded).

The mission is to make sure all continues to work (unless an specific extension is not compatible) and also important, that the layout remains exactly the same.

Today I have a Production (Live) and a Development (Dev) environment, the job flow should be:

1 - YOU: Copy the Production to the Development environment, so that it'll be running exactly as production (same products, plugins, etc) (both already use the same Magento version)

2 - ME: Validate the Development environment to make sure it's running just like Production

3 - YOU: Upgrade Dev. to Magento 1.7 and make the necessary adjustments

4 - ME: Validate the Development environment to make sure it's running correctly with 1.7

5 - YOU: Deploy that version on Production environment with the latest data (orders, products, customers data).

6 - ME: Check if everything if running without problem on production server.

Please allow us 1 week for checking once we have moved to the production server. Some of the problem might not be discovered within 1 or 2 days.

You might want to considering test the upgrade in baby steps: > > 1.5 > 1.6 > 1.7
