Project Description

Overall Aim:

To design and implement a CMS website for a national consumer magazine. All initial content will be provided by us. This must be uploaded to the template prior to launch. Each element should then be updateable via the CMS so that we can maintain the site internally. We prefer Wordpress but are open to suggestions.

CMS install on our server.

Design or source a CMS template according to an overall layout provided by us. The design elements will include:

Horizontal navigation bar

A slideshow of main stories on the homepage

Several other slots for main stories and sections

A side panel with most read articles

Advert slots which can be updated by the team

Integration with a live Twitter feed

Share and commenting facility on all articles

A login/registration feature

A facility to include polls or surveys

A directory with a search functionality to locate providers

Housekeeping links at the bottom of the screen

Make design tweaks as required until both parties are satisfied with the look of the site and the placement of page elements.

Create pages based on the page structure provided by us. We estimate a launch size of approximately 20 core pages with a number of additional individual article pages.

Upload launch content. Text will be provided in a Word document and images in jpg format.

Provide in-depth explanation to illustrate how site elements can be updated/manipulated (i.e. images, slideshow stories, text, adverts and so on).

Test the site and resolve any bugs identified within two months of launch.
