It is very straightforward as I would like you you to make a page template change and the links to the changes (jpg), site backup and database are included in the links given below.
1. I need you to restore the site on your dev server: site ( [url removed, login to view] ) / database ( [url removed, login to view] )
2. I will need you to make the change to the sidebar found in this jpg ( [url removed, login to view] ). As a reference, you can check the live site and see what is wrong by visiting: [url removed, login to view]
You will notice font problems, and content needs to be added.
I will insist on a pixel perfect matching of my concepts supplied concepts or ask for task to be redone
Do not add unnecessary code of any kind (plugins, extensions, etc)
Do not alter the CMS core in any way
Do not hard code links (use only relative links: /filename instead of [url removed, login to view]), references, etc
DEV SITE SETUP:
You will add to the [url removed, login to view] file to disallow sites from indexing the dev site and check regularly to make sure the site isn’t index (Disallow: /)
For wordpress sites, set "privacy" to "block search engines"
check for cross browser compatibility for anything that Google and Microsoft supports:
IE Windows (8 and 9)
FIrefox OSX (latest version)
Firefox Windows (latest version)
Safari Windows (latest version)
Safari OSX (latest version)
Chrome Windows (latest version)
Chrome OSX (latest version)
iOS iPhone (latest versions of safari, chrome)
iOS iPad (latest versions of safari, chrome)
Android (latest version)
Make sure the screen doesn't distort when resizing browser window.
Please make sure that you incorporate any best practices so that the desktop and tablet version work (For example, using swiping finger actions, etc).
HTML Best Practices
Specify image dimensions
Optimize all your (template) images- Most if not all should be at least below 10kb.
Crop the white space using your image editor.
Use PNG8 Files or GIF files rather than Jpegs and don’t use transparency (depending on how many colors you use and how large the image is, but try for yourself).
Scale images: make images in the dimensions you need and not resizing them in the editor.
Use image compression (you can use [url removed, login to view] to do it for you).
Use CSS Sprites, there even are CSS Sprite Generators.
W3C Valid HTML code (using CSS 3 and HTML 5)
Avoid inline, and put code into universal style sheet
Keep in mind that this needs to operate well on tablet
Flush CSS to 1 file
Minify CSS and elements if needed
Use of basic statements and loops
Calls to mysql database should be minimal (basic insert, update, like and where statements are acceptable. Table unions and advanced search features are preferred)
XML parsing (for RSS feeds and/or AJAX)
Object-oriented (preferred but not required)
Use of libraries (jquery, scriptalicious or mootools)
Use as little as possible or pull from an online library like Google
Database calls/searches (preferred but not required)
I expect you to do ALL quality assurance before delivering to me that task is "done"
Please scan the site for other errors that might have resulted from your work
Don’t brand anything with your company’s domain (for example: we will be named as the author of any files/name of theme will be from our company and not your's)
Clean-up all comments in code prior to delivery
Remove all backup files or zips
Once we are completed, you will delete all source files
No work will be reused on other products or featured on your website
Please send me your estimated time of completion ASAP.
