Project Description

Need a website related to Weight Loss recipes. Unlike other recipe sites, this one is particularly related to weight loss only. Website design should reflect that.

Few references on the kind of site. I am not asking for a website-clone, these should be used as references only.

There should be a CMS that will help me manage content and configurations on the site.

The site will allow users to signup and login. Signups should be allowed with Facebook/Twitter/Google/Yahoo/etc...

Users will be able to create new recipes after login and users should be able to save recipes to their account. Users will also be able to apply self-defined Tags on recipes. There will also be a list of tags shared across the system - these will be defined by the Admin.

Users will be able to provide a URL for the source-recipe if they are referring to an external recipe.

Users will be able to add multiple reference URLs in addition to the source URL. For reference URLs they need to be able to add some text optionally describing the reference.

Users will be able to add keywords to make their recipes

The source and references should be displayed with the recipe.

Users should be able to embed videos/images/etc into the recipe without having to do cryptic HTML stuff. Video embedding should work for Youtube/Vimeo/other major video links.

It should have social buttons (twitter/pininterest/facebook/etc) on the website and on recipes. You need to come up with placements for that in your design. (You may use external website based JS widgets that do that - need to confirm with me before using that)

Site should have a search box that searches through content.

Recipes should also show "Related recipes" or "You may also like these" suggestions. Again you may use external JavaScript tools that do that automatically, however I would like this to be built in and not external based.

Users and guests should be able to comment on it. Frameworks like Disqus are less preferred. But I need the commenting system to be configurable to either load it from Disqus or use the built-in.

For the built-in commenting system, I want the users to be able to Rate the recipe while commenting and want the comments to be indexable by search engines. Look at the link below:

The website will depend on ads. Your design should consider that.

Content will be loaded by me and other users. However, you need to put in sample data and sample users and your deliverable should look like a fully functional website. You may use example content from the web - but make sure you cite resources for all those in one document.

Any resources like JavaScript/Images/etc should be loaded from the same domain. Exceptions should be made only after my approval.

The deliverable should include the developed website's source code, and a document explaining exact steps for installation. If required, I may ask you to install it on a server as a different project.

I prefer the site developed with NodeJS/MongoDB backend but open to other options.

Finally, I expect the site should load fast. It is important that you are capable of creating a design for that.

In your proposal/reply:

1. Come up with questions, cost estimate, time estimate and a plan on how you would go about developing this.

2. Your portfolio is preferred - mention your top 2 in your portfolio. If you do not have a portfolio, send me top 2 website links that you think are good web designs for content-heavy websites.

3. Add a word LOSSRECIPES at the end of your proposal/message.
