Project Description

[url removed, login to view] sells movie tickets and concessions for 30-60% off. In order to integrate with movie theaters, we had developed a simple, backend php web app that allows our theater partners to (1) see how many tickets we've sold, (2) see how many tickets are available to sell, (3) and scan barcodes from customer tickets (this is the most important function).

Many of our theaters are OK with running this web app directly out of their browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.), but many of our theater partners have their browsers disabled to keep their employees from browsing the web. As a result, we need to convert our php web app to a Windows desktop app. Almost all of our partners use a Windows-based operating system for their Point-of-Sale, so we'd only need a Windows app. Most use Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP/Vista.

You can see [url removed, login to view] for an example of what we are running.

While not necessary, we'd also like to add some additional functionalities:

1. username and password

2. allow users to be scanned by not only barcode but also (1) email address, (2) home address, (3) full name, and (4) phone number.

Again, this is basically just converting an existing, simple php web app to a Windows desktop app. Site-Specific Browsing will not work because our theater partners disable all their browsers. I'm aware of software such as NuSphere's PhpDock, so it seems that this job can be done relatively quickly.

If you end up taking the job, we'll be able to provide additional info (i.e. files, etc.) that should make your life easier.
