I have files that I encrypted using WinXP Pro's built in NTFS encryption feature. I had some mild file system errors that when I tried to resolve them with chkdsk and other utilities (unskillfuly) the OS crashed and I had to make a 'repair installation'. Although all the unencrypted file are undamaged, the encrypted files seem to have turned into gibrish. Note: I DON'T get a “file inaccessible?? message, as I would get if I did not have the proper privileges to decrypt them. Rather, they open directly (or decrypt willingly) but the contents seems completely garbled). Hopefully, if there is a way to recover the files into their normal selves I would like to have that done. 3 sample files are attached.
Just having my files back to normal.
