Project Budget$30 - $250 USD
I purchased a WordPress theme online and installed it on this site: [url removed, login to view] The bottom of the Footer of every page includes this line of text and links: "Designed by Cara Menjalankan Bisnis Oriflame, thanks to: [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] and Bisnis Oriflame" and if you view the source code of the page, there is also a comment by the designer not to remove these links. If you do remove some or all of these links from the source code, a Red Bar with an error message will display on all web pages stating repair the links.
If you use the Free version of this them, you must keep the links displayed in the footer. If you Pay for the theme, you are given a code to enter in WordPress, which hides these links and I do have this purchase code so I can hide the links using that.
However, when you view the source code of the page, the HTML formatting in this theme is a mess and I am trying to clean it up. I would like to completely remove this footer line of text and links from the source code so that it is not wasting resources verifying the purchase code every time a web page is loaded, but I cannot find the associated piece of code that checks for these links. On line 349 of the Home Page source code, the text and links belong to class="smthemes", but I cannot find this in any of the CSS files. There are variations like 'smthemes-share', 'smthemes-top', but not just 'smthemes'.
Overall, there are 9 CSS files and 7 JS files with this theme and I believe you can view these through your browser. Attached is the [url removed, login to view] file for review. I believe this is linked somehow with the "footertext" option on lines 47-48 of this file.
In addition to removing this line of text and its associated scripts and/or other files, I am trying to clean up the HTML of the site. I am familiar with HTML, but fairly new to WordPress. I am using an editor and have cleaned up some of the HTML format in the [url removed, login to view] and [url removed, login to view] files so they are better, but I am struggling to find where to update the Header Stylesheet includes and the BODY area HTML. If you can give me an idea of what files I need to edit, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
