Project Description

I have a very simple wordpress coding task, I'd like to work with someone on this, and hopefully get a nice job done, and invite them to work on our other projects

Should not require more than a couple hours of work, to someone with programming experience

This is basic work with an existing wordpress plugin [url removed, login to view]

I want to create a "read more" field which when clicked, links to the URL

No doubt you’re aware, when creating a wordpress post, there’s a wysiwyg page to create the post.

In this case we’ll be citing a news article from a 3rd party site , e.g a news story on CNN

The user will enter the story title, and then the first Paragraph of the story

Below that, there will be a “Read More” text field, which when clicked on will open the source page of the news story.

Obviously you can achieve this by typing “Read more” highlighting and then “Add URL” from the WYSIWYG menu

What we want to do, is to add a field, where you just paste the URL of the news story.

Upon saving, automatically a Read More button will appear along with the story

So at backend, all you will do, is add the story title, a paragraph, and paste the URL into the URL field

I’d also like to add a second field, showing the Icon of the Source of the news story, E.G adding 3-4 icons (e.g CNN) and then if the story is a news story from CNN and we paste in the URL, we’ll just select the CNN icon from a drop down

There’s a plugin called advanced custom fields, if you use it, it should be easy to create the necessary 2 fields we require view this [url removed, login to view] and the docs page, for more details
