Project Description

I do have a website running the latest Wordpress, mainly serving as the CMS for the website (i.e. not just a blog).

What I need is a plugin/add-on to locate my client's stores that's easily placeable in either a sidebar (as a widget) or on a page directly (i.e. throughout shortcodes or similar). She has several shops/stores throughout three countries and wants visitors to being able to enter their zip (or the first numbers of their zip) and/or their city and get a list of the shops/stores.

The data for this is stored plaintext in a mySQL database (other than the wordpress database) table and as follows:

The process is pretty straightforward:

- Two easy text input fields for zip and city respectively. City shall be optional, at least the first two chars of the zip code are mandatory (max 5 numbers). Country should be fixed when embeeding the shortcode or placing the widget (so could be three widgets or three different shortcodes, I don't care)

- The query should be run against the mySQL database and return the appropriate results on a new page within the current template of WP.

Nicely formatted (will deliver a template for that and the input fields as well). If you do see an easy way to spice this up by placing the adresses as markers on a Google Maps map atop of the results would be very appreciated and paid for extra. But not necessary. Another idea would be to place a "show on map" link aside each address that opens a google maps with the marker set at the address. That would be easier to achieve I guess.

The input should be filtered thoroughly to not allow for any XSS or injection attacks. Furthermore the amount of results given out shall be limited so no brute-force (i.e. cycling from 00 to 99) is possible to grab all adresses. Could be achieved by "just-5-queries-per-ip-per-day" or similar measures.

I could write the thing myself in PHP easily but am lacking total Wordpress experience hence I post this project.

No clue how to blend such a query within a wordpress page or sidebar widget. Please shoot for any questions you might have. I appreciate this briefing isn't top notch, but the project isn't that complicated to understand I think ;-) I am available almost 24/7 for direct and agile communication throughout the project.
