PLEASE READ ALL OF MY REQUIREMENTS BEFORE BIDDING. Thanks!
Recently, I posted a large project we're working on that collects data and minipulates/outputs it inside of a web framework we have. It became clear that the scope was way too broad based on the responses I received, so I'm resposting a segment of the project that I need to have done first: data collection.
- REQUIREMENTS: I need a development team to write a couple of scripts to grab data from specific music ranking sites. The site names will be released once the project is rewarded, but one such site is iTunes (the rest are of equal or less technical complexity). There will only be 3 different sites total. In these sites, there are multiple music genres that have ranked sales of specific songs. We need to capture a certain number of these genres (I'm guessing the number of genres is irrelevent as the code does not vary from genre to genre per site) on each site, capture the name of the song, the artist, the current rank of that song in that genre on that site, and a few other details that are available per site (again, 3 sites total, one being itunes). The project itself, if you have any experience with data collection and parsing, is quite basic...because there's 3 sites, you'll more or less need to write 3 basic scripts and allow them to be manipulated for each category. The second part of the project is storing the captured data into a MS SQL db which we will scope to our necessary requirements, so all you'll need to do is write insert statements. Relatively straight forward. No data manipulation is required at this time, although if the developmental team does a good job, there's more work to be had.
- TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS/REQUESTS:
Originally I posted this as a Coldfusion project because the technology we use for a couple of systems that will integrate is Coldfusion. Its apparent that the Coldfusion expertise is few and far between when compared to PHP, so I'm listing this as a PHP project as well (and, I guess, whatever else floats your boat for that matter.... .NET, Java, whatever. I have an environment for all of it). THAT SAID, bids that come in as Coldfusion will be 1) considered first. 2) will be looked at as higher value. I'll be more apt to pick a more expensive Coldfusion bid than a mid priced PHP bid. The PHP bids will need to be priced competitively. Please specify in your bid response if you're responding with intention to code in Coldfusion or another (please name) language.
Secondly, in regards to database technology, Microsoft SQL must be used. 2008 R2 (compatibility at least) is preferred.
PLEASE take a moment to message me before posting if you have questions. Thanks!
