Need coding for a site similar to Etsy and BigCartel where people sign up for free and create and manage their own “store?? and photo gallery.
The site will also contain:
- vertical banner and text ads.
-ecommerce features with recurring payments
-incorporate local search, and display ads and stores based on users location.
## Deliverables
We will provide basic design concept in PSD format.
You develop, code and adapt design for all web pages based on this design concept.
You code a site where people sign up for free and create their own “store?? and photo gallery. Each person can login and manage their own “store?? themselves. They can sell items and/or have a gallery to show off their collections or show storefront or home or whatever without any selling features attached. Their photo-gallery would be separate from their items-for-sale-gallery.
People interested in buying could come to the site and look by individual “store?? or could search by general category, by subcategories, by location (proximity to store ??" for example: “show me stores within 50 km of me) or by keyword search.
Categories and sub categories would be managed (added, deleted, edited) by site admin.
Categories and sub categories could be suggested by store owners.
Each store would be approved by us, but managed by the store owner.
Each store would display their own logo.
Each store page would have advertising on it (some vertical banners. Some text ads.)
Each store would use the merchants' own payment processes.
Store owners could put as many photos of items in their gallery as they want for free. But any items that are for sale would cost X number of points per 3 months to sell.
Store owners could buy points in bulk from the site.
(For example: Purchase 10 points for $1.00 or 100 points for $6.00 or 250 points for $10)
Points purchased would never expire.
But items offered for sale would automatically use up more points or “expire?? every 3 months.
Store owner would be notified if they are running low on points. (they can choose at what point level they want to be notified, or set up automatic withdrawals from their CC or PayPal account.
It would be clear to the buyer that they are buying from the individual businesses, not from us.
The cost to the merchant would work much like etsy. No cost to register, a small cost to list each item (and a higher cost if the item is “featured??). We will not charge a percentage of any sale.
We will sell advertising on the site ??" as fully automated as possible. Businesses should be able to manage their own advertising accounts. Brick & Mortar businesses can have location based advertising (for example, a restaurant in Boston might have their ad only to people in the Boston area)
Each item in each store would have a photo or graphic and a description and keywords (much like Etsy). The costs, bulk pricing, shipping costs, photos, descriptions, etc would all be managed by the store owner.
People could initiate trades
We would have a “featured store?? and “recently listed items?? are such as etsy.
We have a basic home page design. Interior pages will look much like Etsy pages but with our theme.
Site must work smoothly and be easy to use and navigate. Very Web 2.0 type site.
Ajax or Rails preferred.
