Project Description

Any chance you know any push developers. I have gone through two push

developers. The first one took money and got something 95% working and

then took off. The second was a college student who did it as a project.

He wont take money and sent me most of the code but he got too busy to do

the project. Here is the project.

1. Setup the push server which I have code for. Will need to find a place

to host it that will let the scripts run. I was planning on paying $20 a

month for RackSpace to host it but no contract is in place

2. Setup the front end to the server. I have the site and logins. I am trying to get the

code for this site but don't have it yet. This site does a few things.

First it allows you to send a broadcast push (lite or Pro version is

determined by which product you log in as). Second it hosts the metadata

for the app. This is content that the app uses like first time welcome

screen, all other welcome screens, and button names. Hardy already has the

latest app code and is working on it. That code works with the metadata but

we may have to change the address when we move the hosted server. I think

it is a simple line of code as to where the meta data is located. Last

this website has statistics as to how many phones are registered. But for

now that was not working anyways.

3. We then need to test broadcast push to the apps. Once that works we can

go to step 4.

4. We need to write some HTML code that goes to my blog and checks for new

entries. The app has two choices (only in PRO version). Breaking news or

All News. If it is Breaking news it will start with a *. If not it is

just normal news. So if the person checks breaking news only they wont see

any notifcation for regular news. When new news entry comes in it will go

out via push to the appropriate phones. They will get a message with the

subject as a push notification and when the select it, it will open up the

app and in the app it will go to my blog in hotmacnews.
