What I am looking for is to have Oscommerce modified to import affiliate datafeed CSV to add the affiliate products to the store.
Some CSV's have 100 products some have over 1k depending on the feed.
So this would include onsite image location as it is an affiliate datafeed and when the buy it now, or add to cart it would goto the affiliate url location supplied in the datafeed.
Is there a way to autocreate a category in Oscommerce when the import is taking place if the category is not there to place the product, link, image, retail price, real price and description to the tables to be supplied in a searchable format in Oscommerce.
Also there must be a way to update the feed in the future to overwrite or a delete all button to start fresh or create new data if necessary.
I believe this can be done but the Oscommerce needs to be tweaked to let the offsite images and etc to take place.
Please advise if this makes sense and if you can get this job done.
I would also like the Oscommerce script for mod_rewrite to be search engine friendly.
Is it possible when the script imports the datafeed there are some common types that is has and would recognize of where and what to do if put aforth with the data to covert the data to be inserted in the appropiate fields in the oscommerce script.
Sort of a import helper it would be able to ask is this field to go here or this will go here. Categories autocreated if needed to be added and one of the most important features would be to be to update the products in the future and have the ability to overwrite the product data while keeping the global variables or a delete all products while keep the site variables like meta info and etc if possible.
Any additions would be greatly appreciated that you think would be useful.
I would like someone who knows about the oscommerce open source script preferred or if you think this is possible please bid or please talk back on the message board
