Project Description

[url removed, login to view] DESCRIPTION OF WORK REQUESTED FOR QUOTE:

Currently [url removed, login to view] uses a HTML page and accompanying CSS to display its data (motocross news and stories) to the Internet. All of this was designed and implemented in-house. We have a fairly technical staff here.

The actual stories and content in the center pane is the intellectual property of [url removed, login to view] and we have the rights to distribute it to our customer base. It is our intention to do so and charge a fee for the end-user to receive this data.

Functionality to be designed:

1) We use a manual update procedure currently to edit the HTML code and CSS. This will not be adequate moving forward.

We require a simple PHP form created that will have the following fields:

• Title of Story

• Date of creation

• Thumbnail of full size image

• Paragraph of story description

• “More” link to actual full story page

• Full story page text and photo in HTML

• Publish, delete, view current and edit keys

We can provide samples of this form.

We require an overall list of all stories that can facilitate picking one out for further editing, viewing or deletion.

2) We need this data to be stored and put in our simple MYSQL database when we “publish” the story via the form created.

When the “publishing” of the story occurs, we need the story data to be put into our database and also to our [url removed, login to view] page, thereby creating the story in two forms.

Of course, this mechanism must insure the story be posted in the top of the page, and the rest of the stories be “pushed down” so the newest story is at the top.

3) Next, we need to have this data available to be displayed on our end-clients websites in a simple fashion. We believe PHP would be the mechanism.

We have examples of what we want accomplished by looking here:

ORIGINAL SITE: [url removed, login to view]

Presents a newsfeed and data elements that are displayed here:

CLIENT SITE: [url removed, login to view]

We intend that when the “more” key is clicked, the html data will still be displayed within the client’s site and not to be taken back to our site as they would if they hit out “more” key.

We are a very small firm with limited financial resources. We have a list of future enhancements as we move forward and can provide a steady flow of work if we find the right individual to work with.

Please include PHP accomplishments in your response with live examples.

You MUST have experience creating PHP forms and with MYSQL database within the past 12 months and be able to show it. Please do not apply if this is not the case.

Any experience with implementing RSS feeds will be valuable to us.

You must be able to forecast to the actual hours of work required and stick to that quote.

You must be able propose a basic outline of how you will accomplish this task ad the associated hours for each step or equivalent documentation.

Replies such as “Will do for $400 US” ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
