Project Description

I have a PERL script, which analyzes [url removed, login to view] from squid, and puts some traffic info into a RRD-db. And enables/disables a user, in case his traffic limit is exceeded.
This working script is started using a CRON job, once a minute. However, the script uses quite some CPU. Now I want this script to be run like a daemon, avoiding all upstart overhead. And only reading a config-file once. Also, some state info actually is kept in a state file, re-opened on every start by CRON, which might be avoided when being run as a daemon.
So, no functional changes to be done; only one more startup-parameter added and included in config-file: re-schedule interval in seconds.
Additional suggestions for some optimizations are welcome.
As this is a nice-to-have project, I will not spend more than 30$ for this job.
Qualified bidders will receive the src code of the PERL script, to refine/remove their bids.
