For own use we need the following technical and academic based manual & form to review freelancers after a project has been finished:
1. A review mechanism based on industry best practices (quote and provide sources!) that is to be filled out by the team or person that hired the freelancers.
This review would be done online and should fit on a single page and not take more than 15 minutes to answer.
Important: The review would not take place right after a project is submitted but after a couple of days or weeks so the reviewer can better asses whether the freelancer did a good job or not.
It is not meant to be shared with others except with the freelancer to provide him truthful feedback. So it should go beyond public feedback like "job well done!" or "always great to work with freelancer X" etc...
The Review will be structured in the following way:
Highlight freelancer's strength and weaknesses in different domains relevant to the project he worked on. This depends on the type of project and can be categorized into IT, SALES, CREATIVE, OPERATIONS (e.g. keying in data), MARKETING & SALES and can be further sub-categorized according according to the logic used by [url removed, login to view] and Freelancer. com
Calculate a Score for each segment and overall based on the answer given above (Part 1)
Evaluate whether this freelancer should or could be used again in the future. This is more of a subjective review and includes elements like (did I enjoy working with freelancer, was the communication good, general remarks etc..)
The review should use a score/point system as well as text based feedback to evaluate the freelancer.
We need a manual / procedure that is based on best practices as well as academic research used to evaluate the success rate of freelancers. It is extremely important that this Manual / Procedure is based on recognised real-life or academically evaluated best practices and we will need some form of sources to check this.
It is important to highlight the different points that need to be evaluated depending on the type of project. E.g. "Quality of Writing" is not relevant to a design project where a user interface (UI) is to be designed.
Ideally this project is for somebody who has experience with post project reviews and evaluations conducted by large clients or by large consulting firms. We just want to apply this to smaller projects in a structured manner.
