Project Description

I need to extract a specific image procesing algorithm from existing code (from Cyclops which is a large suite of image processing tools). Cyclops was written mostly in Python and Visual C++ and it's a bit of a mess because it rely on third part libraries like GTK. I need only a specific processing algorithm to be extracted and rewritten into a DLL that I can run from my software (passing a memory pointer to an image array, some paramaters and getting a pointer to the resulting image). I don't want the DLL to depend from third part libraries, so dependencies must also be rewritten, and particularly for memory management which is a mess.
Furthermore I need some speed and memory optimization (the algorithm is not optimized and cannot process large images within the Cyclops package).
The source code for Cyclops can be downloaded from there ([url removed, login to view]).
The algorithm is SFS (Shape From Shading) and specifically the H&W2 (I don't need the other SFS algorithms).
