This September I will begin PhD studies at Durham University (UK). I would like to hire someone to successfully find grants and/or scholarships for my studies. I have been doing some searching and am currently working on scholarships at the university. Unfortunately, my knowledge of UK/European funding of postgraduate work is minimal.
Here are some of the facts:
I am an American, who has been teaching and directing a music program at a small college/seminary in the Philippines for 12 years
I have been accepted into the PhD program in musicology (my research will blend ethnomusicology, cognitive or neurological musicology, and theology)
I will be a full-time student, but will only spend 3 separate months of year in Durham, for 3 years; during the remainder of each year I will be carrying out research in Philippines, and meeting regularly with my doctoral supervisors via Skype
I am 47 years old, married, with children
More specific information can be given about my background and research goals/plans to anyone seriously interested in taking on this job
I am looking for someone to research and apply for grants and scholarships on my behalf. I believe that would entail someone with an academic/research background.
For payment I would offer a percentage of the total grant/scholarship money acquired. This is negotiable, but I would suggest 5%, plus a bonus of $500 if the full amount needed for the first year (tuition and travel expenses - 3 round trip airplane tickets - Manila-Newcastle-Manila) was acquired.
Note: I would be paying this from my own pocket, once the grants/scholarships are assured, not from the grant/scholarship money itself. For any grants/scholarship that would last for the full three years of doctoral study, I could pay 7%.
