You will be required to write an essay of no more than 3,000 words on a current issue in the field of mergers and acquisitions (over the last 4 years) which will provide a critical reflection of both theory and practice. Indicative topics may include - sources of value added in acquisitions, cross-border acquisitions, corporate refocusing, strategic alliances, target valuation and government regulation.
Your essay should include both an evaluation of relevant academic theory and empirical evidence drawn from financial journalism and analysts’ reports.
Please note that the choice of topic to be used in this coursework must be made in consultation with the lecturer.
The word limit is 3,000 words excluding any embedded tables or graphs, bibliography and any appendices.
