Project Description

Are you a writer looking to flesh out and expand a horror screenplay into novel form?

Hi. I’m the producer of a horror film in pre-production and I seek a writer to novelize the script for my company.

What’s it about?

Well, that’s proprietary right now. Think BEVERLY LEWIS meets CHILDREN OF THE CORN and you’ll get an approximate idea of what we’re after.

What’s the pay?

This is a work-for-hire situation on a negotiated per page (or per-word) payment. We are looking for the novel to be two hundred pages or 80,000 words.

What’s the credit?

Since the writer wishes to have his name on the novel, this will be an anonymous ghost writing position. The screenwriter also reserves to rewrite the manuscript as he sees fit.

What are the requirements?

Experience in the MYSTERY/SUSPENSE/HORROR genres is preferred. Past experience with MOVIE NOVELIZATIONS is a huge plus.

Also, if you know who BEVERLY LEWIS is and can approach and surpass her style of writing, we’d like to meet you.

We prefer to work with someone in LOCAL TO LOS ANGELES.

So I just novelize the screenplay and that’s it?

Absolutely not. We seek a collaborator to expand the universe and, if approved, improve the story within the framework the screenplay affords you. Since the location takes places in a specific area, some research will be required. We don’t want the simple “he said, she said” translation.

What’s the timeline?

The first twenty pages will be on a PAID trial basis. Once approved, we’d look to have the manuscript in hand within 90 days of our signed agreement.

How do I get your attention?

Please send a resume, references and links to your blog, along with a SHORT WRITING SAMPLE. If interested, I will send my resume, references and links in return so we may begin the conversation.
