Help Research and Compile an Operations Manual for a Service Business
My company is national in scope, providing training for those who want to start their own business. In addition to training clients, a large part of the owner's effort is spent on preparing various marketing materials as well as doing routine "maintenance" on the business or website.
My goal is to prepare a detailed and comprehensive "operating manual" or call it a "procedures manual". This manual will identify various segments of the business such as the main website, several other related websites and all the related materials.
This manual will be a "how-to" manual, illustrating how to prepare, create, distribute and maintain various marketing materials such as audio CDs, eBooks, Kindle books, auto responders, email and blog messages, etc. It will include the various "tools" of the trade to include setting up and using Skype and iContact, for example. That is, the manual will identify the various resources used to create various materials and to conduct daily business.
Some information will be easily available and provided to the person selected to complete this project; for other information, the person selected for this project may have to do a little "digging" so as not to overlook anything.
The person selected for this project will scan, review and identify various segments of the business, again, so that nothing is overlooked. Even the names, addresses and telephone numbers of banks and other resources will be entered into the operating manual.
The person selected for this project will pay special attention to laying out the material in such a manner that it would serve to be a detailed guide that would enable any "new" individual to, more or less, take over and continue operations with little effort.
This project is expected to last for at least six months. I am very busy otherwise and will need a lot of time to review and make modifications as work progresses.
The final project will be sent in an older version of MSWord, single-spaced with proper indention, etc. It must be impeccable English with no grammatical errors. The owner of this business will maintain ownership of the working papers and final materials. The person selected for this position will be willing to sign an agreement regarding this ownership as well as a confidentiality statement and non-compete clause.
