Project Description

I need help with market research targeting the oil and energy sector. More specifically, we are looking to determine going rates for processing/handeling oil waste often referred to as oil sludge. Oil sludge is one of the major waste streams generated from the petroleum industry, is an emulsion of heavy oil, water and various solid particles - so in other words oil mixed with sand, clay, dirt [url removed, login to view] is generated as part of drilling process, refining/storage (sand and crude oil accumulate in bottom of oil tanks) or as a result of accidents.

Governments, development organizations and oil companies are contracting oil service companies or environmental remediation companies to handle sludge.

I need some examples of rates paid to process sludge per ton. Ideally, I am interested in rates from the Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia.

I am interested in rates from:

Tank cleaning (the sand and oil mix present when an oil tank is emptied out)
Cleaning of sludge that is stored outside (pits/ponds) from drilling operations

You can either obtain rate examples from research on the internet or I can give you a list of companies (service providers) for you to contact via phone or calling using Skype.

The latter is the preferred approach, and I would expect feedback from 15-20 companies.

So to summarize: You will contact oil service / remediation companies as part of a market research project to get indications of rates paid per ton of oil sludge waste processed. I need feedback from at least 15 companies.
